Demountable and/or meanwhile use Temporary Accommodation

Bristol and Havering have recently pioneered innovative housing delivery models that could become game-changers in the UK to help address the Temporary Accommodation (TA) crisis. Using demountable MMC homes and leaseback models, the councils have unlocked a ‘new’ land supply available for meanwhile use TA, creating the potential for thousands of quality homes to be built now on land that would otherwise be held for years for future development.

Live examples in Bristol and Havering will be unpacked, and the hope is that together we can refine the model to its critical elements and co-create a toolkit to enable similar models to be replicated across the country.
