About Us
The Building Better Community of Practice (BB:CoP) was formed when Building Better and Housing Festival joined forces to increase momentum in their shared mission to drive systemic change in the social and affordable housing sector through innovation and collaboration.
BB:CoP is a learning partnership, open to professionals across the social and affordable housing delivery ecosystem, including Registered Providers, local authorities, central government agencies, MMC suppliers and others who want to take an active role in driving progress forward.
Members interact through regular meetings and other channels to share experiences, work on shared problems, unpack case studies, hear from experts and participate in cutting-edge research. They collectively publish research reports, toolkits and other resources for the sector.
Building Better was set up in 2018 as part of the National Housing Federation’s Greenhouse innovation programme, a ground-breaking scheme that tackled real issues in society with the objective of developing ideas that can be scaled across the country. This included the development of three innovative national procurement solutions for MMC, which you can explore on the MMC solutions page. The BB:CoP continues to be supported by the NHF.
Housing Festival was set up in 2018 as a ‘think and do tank’ working to find innovative and scalable solutions to the UK housing crisis, implemented and refined in the real-world. Find out more on the Housing Festival website.
