Local authorities across the UK are under acute pressure from the Temporary Accommodation (TA) emergency, with the annual cost in England now running into billions and large numbers of children in long-term homelessness.
The long-term solution is more affordable and social rent homes, but councils also need short-term strategies that unlock private finance within existing borrowing constraints. Drawing on two recent completions in Bristol and Havering, we have developed an end-to-end resource to help London boroughs and other local authorities deliver relocatable homes on meanwhile use sites.
